If I had a Daughter I Would Tell Her

To be strong, but moreover smart. Not book smart or street wise inclined, but to have the intelligence that allows one to adapt quickly to any situation. To choose the right path with grace and haste. Learn from mistakes before you make them by viewing other people’s tales.

Listen to advice while still maintaining your original mindset. Remember the purpose of a living organism, and choose who and what you want to spend your time with carefully. Do not worry about being pretty, do not hide your true self from the world unless your life or goals are in jeopardy.

Be cunning, be aware, and do not succumb to the desires of the weary mind. Do not settle for less then you know is obtainable, surrender only when you have a plan to be victorious later on.

Think about the past, do not dwell on it. Think about the future, more than others will. Know the present is temporary, but each action carries over to tomorrow.

Remember never to be naive, for love is mistaken too many times for lust. Let time be the judge of those you trust. Better to be safe than sorry, be careful of parties.

Never stop to gloat in glory, because then that will be the end of your story. Always continue to move forward for life is short and you must hurry.

Never forget to keep on learning, because only that will quench your yearning. If you see life in the past as a blur, you need to stir from the slumber that you have endured.

And at last, always remember see truth, not fiction.
